Our Approach

We rely on a thorough understanding of your financial goals, current situation, and feelings toward investment risk before advising you on possible ways to work toward achieving your goals.  Our approach is not a product but a disciplined process based on our founding principles of Integrity, Excellence and Service.  Our process is comprised of:

Discovery Meeting

This introductory meeting is designed to get to know each other and listen to your concerns and expectations. We use this occasion to introduce our planning process, investment philosophy, service commitment, and our fees.  We ask prospective clients to begin gathering financial data in preparation for the second meeting, which is Data Collection and Assessment.

Data Collection and Assessment

In this meeting we examine the entirety of your financial life.  We look for areas of strength in your financial situation and vulnerabilities that could derail your plan.  We look for congruency between your risk tolerance and your current investments.  Next, we stress your investment strategy against thousands of randomly selected historical returns.  We don't believe historical results can predict future outcomes, but we do think modeling your investments through actual market conditions can be useful for setting a risk adjusted course.

Setting the Strategy

Once we have a clear understanding of your current goals, situation, and feelings, we begin the interactive process of putting strategies in place to help you manage the various aspects of your financial life.  Together, we work through different scenarios that may point the way to achieving tomorrow's financial goals while meeting today's financial obligations.

On-Going Management

Once a course of action is set, it's our job to provide ongoing monitoring and management, and report back to you on your progress.  We meet routinely to determine if your plan is on track and if course corrections are necessary.  Between reviews we monitor the changing investment landscape and reorient your plan accordingly.
